Darby Creek is a beautiful tributary to Harrods Creek in Oldham County. Its 9.4 square miles are mostly forested with some agriculture and development. The developed portion of the watershed is the town of Buckner. The Darby Creek Watershed Team met regularly for over two years to create the Darby Creek Watershed Plan. The plan was finished in 2010, but was later updated in 2014 and 2015. It was finalized and approved by Kentucky Division of Water and EPA in 2016. The updated version below contains new water quality data collected in 2014, as well as updated information about discharge permits and other local facilities.
Our Darby Creek Project Grant expired in June 2017. We do have an interest in continuing to work in the Darby Creek Watershed though, and will be looking for new funding for implementation of additional septic, stormwater, and agricultural practices that will address water quality issues in the watershed.
