Completed Watershed Plans

Completed Watershed Plans

Kentucky Waterways Alliance was awarded a Clean Water Act Nonpoint Source Section 319(h) grant through the Kentucky Division of Water in 2004 to develop the Watershed Planning Guidebook for Kentucky Communities, First Edition (2010). To do this, KWA worked in four small watersheds to create watershed plans. The feedback generated during the planning process from the watershed teams was used to develop the revised Guidebook (first edition).

Using the Watershed Planning Guidebook for Kentucky Communities Draft, local watershed teams and KWA created plans for the following watersheds:
  • Dry Creek (Rowan County)
  • Hancock Creek (Clark County)
  • Sinking Creek (Laurel County)
  • Stockton Creek (Fleming County)

Check out these completed plans to get ideas for your own watershed plan.  Each plan contains loads of interesting background information, review of data collected for the project and from other sources, and lots of great maps!

*Please note that the completed watershed plans above were created using the draft version of the Guidebook, and so do not exactly match the format of the Watershed Planning Guidebook for Kentucky Communities, First Edition.
