Congratulations to our friends who are pioneering the start-up of an Ohio River Recreation Trail. This week the group successfully paddled 274 miles from Portsmouth, Ohio to Louisville as a test run to determine next steps and how to better bring the idea to life as an established route. Check out the trail’s Facebook page here. We are always excited to see paddlers take advantage of the many waterways Kentucky offers, and this kind of big, audacious idea brings with it huge potential for tourism and introducing folks to the beauty of the Ohio River.

If you appreciate clean water, great beer and good people, join us at the West 6th Tap Room for “End the Day with KWA” and a celebratory check presentation. Our hosts at West 6th are formally presenting the Friends of Red River (a KWA affiliate) with a check as part of their Drink a Porter Pay It Forward program. It’s going to be a great time. Come and meet the KWA staff and FORR, and learn how these non-profit groups work to protect, restore and celebrate waterways statewide and locally. 5-7p (the check presentation is at 6:30p). 109 West Main Street, Lexington, KY 40507.
Join the KWA team! If you have experience as an office administrator and you are looking for a part-time position, we would love to hear from you. Our office administrator plays a vital role on our small team in the areas of general operations, office management, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. Working with the Executive Director (ED), the Office Administrator will manage office administration, provide financial support, and assist with special events.
