Triennial Review

The state's Water Quality Standards are reviewed every three years in what is known as a Triennial Review. The Clean Water Act requires that the states review and, if necessary, revise their water quality standards every three years. This process contemplates broad public participation that will create a full public record that can be reviewed by EPA in its consideration of new standards and revisions that emerge from the triennial review process.
